Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

• Work in a high-volume advanced GI procedural setting with 6-7 procedure rooms and 28 pre/post procedure bays.
• Average 20-30 cases per day including EGD, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, stone management, GI bleed cases, both inpatient and outpatient.
• Provide versatile preoperative and Phase II recovery nursing care.
• Manage 2-3 patients during a 30-45 minute recovery period before discharge or return to inpatient care.
• Responsibilities include advanced airway management, IV skills, post-anesthesia care, procedural sedation, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
• Use EPIC EMR system.
• Charge nurse available on each shift.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends or call required.
• No floating to other units.
• Orientation: 1 week of pre/post procedure orientation, 4 days of 10-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM).
• Must provide own scrubs; no specific color required.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or proof that application process has been initiated.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• Must pass a drug screen (drug-free campus policy).
• Strong proficiency in IV skills, airway management, procedural sedation, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.

Additional Notes

• Local rate adjustments apply for clinicians living within 50 miles.
• Orientation hours (12 hours) are non-billable.
• Call off policy allows 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty.

Experience Requirements

• Must have solid experience in preoperative and Phase II recovery nursing in GI procedural settings.
• Advanced airway management and IV skills required.
• No explicit mention of prior travel experience required.
