Job Opportunity: RN (Registered Nurse) - Acute Care 5 (MedSurg)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification

Job Details

• Unit Size: 44 beds, staffed with 40 nurses
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Telemetry: Yes, but monitored on a different unit
• Floating: Required to float to all acute care and cardiology units, including emergency care for acute care patient holds
• EMR System: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
• Orientation:

  • General orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training)
  • Floor-specific orientation: 2 days

Additional Information

• Strict 75-mile radius from the traveler's driver's license address to the hospital
• Nurse Aides/CNAs ratio: 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
