Travel Medical-Surgical RN Opportunity

Location: Kearney, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Position: Traveling Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
Experience: General med-surg experience required
Shift: Day shifts available, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Unit: 2nd floor, main hospital, 24 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: Team care model
Average census: 14 patients daily
Patient specialties include:
- Oncology
- Renal
- Urology
- General surgery
- Gynecology
- Psychiatry/detox
- ENT
- General medicine

Requirements & Policies

BLS certification required
Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove will result in contract termination
Orientation includes a pass/fail open book exam on Friday; a minimum score of 90% is required to continue
Valid driver’s license required at submission to verify distance compliance
Scheduling: Blocked scheduling generally not approved unless weekends only; duos requesting the same schedule or carpooling are not accepted
