Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide care for a wide range of patients from neonates to geriatrics in an inpatient setting. The role involves working across all hospital areas and floors, including coverage for various patient care levels.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential via NBRC
- ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- Recent Level 1 or Level 2 experience required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Driver’s license required at time of submission
- Experience with EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry
- Must be able to work within a 50-mile radius and not currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with certain affiliated facilities (specific affiliations excluded)

Work Environment & Schedule

- Ventilators: Drager, Servo I, Carefusion (Heliox and NICU use only)
- Bipap devices: Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T
- High flow oxygen: Airvo2
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7am-7pm, team scheduling
- Weekend requirements: Days every third weekend, nights every other weekend
- Holiday coverage: Rotates with permanent staff
- Floating: Required to float to different hospital areas within RT capacity
- Orientation: 3 shifts of 12 hours each
Additional Notes
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
- Emphasis on teamwork between respiratory therapists, providers, and nursing staff
- Successful candidates demonstrate strong time management, flexibility, adaptability, communication skills, teamwork, and a willingness to learn
- Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission
