Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics/Neonatal (Peds/Neo)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive respiratory care for pediatric and neonatal patients primarily in Level III or greater NICU and PICU settings. Work includes managing advanced ventilators and respiratory equipment, assisting with airway management, and performing intrahospital transport.

Patient Population

Pediatric and Neonatal patients
Work areas: NICU and PICU
Level IV NICU experience available

Responsibilities

Perform all aspects of respiratory care including use of aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, Hamilton and Servo ventilators
Assist with intubation (independent intubation not required)
Manage airway and perform intrahospital transport
Use BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula equipment

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in West Virginia
Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
BLS issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
PALS issued by the American Heart Association
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Scheduling & Work Environment

Night shift with three 12-hour shifts per day
Preference scheduling allowed with commitment to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (weekends include Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
No call or standby call required
No floating between departments
Dress code: Stone/light gray scrubs
Staffing: Prefer 8 RTs per shift, RT will not be the only therapist on duty

Orientation & Support

Department-specific orientation provided; length depends on prior experience
Hospitalist or Intensivist available in-house

Additional Notes

Holiday shifts may be scheduled
Experience with advanced respiratory equipment and ventilators required (Hamilton, Servo, Respironics, Fisher Paykel)
