Registered Nurse (Psychiatry) - West Valley, Utah

Position Overview

  • Work in a 26-bed inpatient adult behavioral health unit.
  • Patient population primarily includes geriatric psychiatric patients (55+), with dementia as a common primary diagnosis and bipolar disorder as the second most common.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6.
  • Unit has a seclusion room but currently does not staff 1:1 for physical restraints.
  • No telemetry monitoring or monitor techs; RNs do not read strips on this unit.

Schedule

  • Night shifts, 12 hours per shift.
  • Approximately 36 hours per week.
  • Weekend work required at least every third weekend.
  • Holiday shifts required (6 PM to 6:30 AM, every other week).

Contract Details

  • Contract length: 18 weeks.
  • Orientation week requires clinicians to be physically present in-state, even if some modules are remote.
  • Must be within a 60-mile radius and submit a valid driver’s license.

Required Qualifications

  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • Valid nursing license as an RN.
