Job Opportunity: ICU Nurse (Contract)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Requirements

  • Specialty: Nursing (Intensive Care Unit)
  • Minimum Experience: 3 years ICU experience
  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • Active Hawaii State Nursing License (must have by start of assignment)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (can be completed online during orientation)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Job Details

  • Shift: Flexible day or night shifts, determined by staffing needs
  • Hours:
    • 36 hours per week after orientation (3 x 12-hour shifts)
    • 12-hour call shifts every 4 weeks
  • Orientation: 1 week (up to 40 hours)
  • Floating: May be required to float to other critical care or step-down units as needed
  • Unit Details:
    • 11-bed ICU unit
    • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
  • Dress Code: Professional scrubs

Additional Notes

  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday
  • Equipment used includes Meditech system
