Job Opportunity: LPN - Weight Management Clinic

Location: State College, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

Assist in delivering quality healthcare by exercising sound nursing judgment according to established standards and policies. Participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in coordinating patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year nursing experience preferred.
• License: Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License required.
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification meeting American Heart Association standards, with renewal every two years.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Practical nursing principles and skills for quality patient care, including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Understanding of medication effects and patient education principles.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
• Familiarity with physician office procedures and medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
• Problem identification, prioritization, decision-making, and solution recommendation skills.
• Ability to administer various medications and treatments and use examination and treatment equipment.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced, high-traffic medical office environment.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids, and other clinic-related conditions.
• May require irregular hours and travel to other offices.

Physical Demands

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
• Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
