Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit has 152 beds
Staff: 2 dietitians and 1 clinical nutrition manager on day shift; no night coverage
Equipment: Laptop with desk setup
EMR system: Meditech
Floating areas include ICU, Telemetry, General floor, Women’s unit, and ER

Perform ICU rounds
Provide nutrition support and assessments
Conduct patient and family education related to nutrition
Develop nutrition care plans based on clinical triggers and physician orders
Complete nutrition assessments within specified timeframes for various patient conditions (e.g., mechanical ventilation, NPO > 3 days, pressure ulcers, malnutrition risk, dysphagia, obstetrical nutrition triggers)
Document assessments, progress notes, and education notes in Meditech
Re-screen patients with extended hospital stays (>6 days) for nutrition risk

Valid RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) license in Texas
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
RD (Registered Dietitian) and LD (Licensed Dietitian) credentials
Nutrition support experience

Nutrition education consults may cover topics such as Coumadin, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and weight loss
Nursing staff provides initial education on Coumadin and consults dietitians as needed
