Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in a Trauma Surgical Unit specializing in acute care trauma and surgical patients.
• Patient population includes trauma, orthopedic, and urology cases.
• Interdisciplinary team approach with collaboration among family practice physicians, hospitalists, and various surgical specialists.
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Clinical position with direct patient care.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg Telemetry within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross equivalent.
