Job Summary
The Interim Director of Women's Services provides leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for labor and delivery, postpartum, nurseries, and other women's health services departments. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care through quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities include enhancing patient safety, optimizing resource use, and promoting staff professional development while aligning with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Staff Management
- Oversee daily operations including staffing, resource allocation, safety, and quality.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff; promote continuing education and professional development.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback.
- Schedule employees to ensure effective resource use and consult on staffing issues.
Strategic Planning and Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic direction, budgeting, and long-term planning.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
- Maintain quality control practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and safety.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with leadership teams to coordinate and improve service delivery.
- Stay current with industry advancements, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Additional Duties
- May perform staff-level duties as needed, ensuring competency standards are met.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Comply with all organizational policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Mississippi
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 3 years of Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Women's Services
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) certification
