Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical inpatient experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an inpatient setting

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Utilize the nursing process to care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
• Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Adhere to professional accountability and facility standards

Working Conditions

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, kneeling, crouching, and minimal crawling
• Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk
• May require flexible scheduling based on patient care needs

Additional Information

• Flu vaccination is mandatory for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Dress code requires black scrubs only

Summary

This travel RN position in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry offers a 13-week assignment with day shifts and flexible hours. The role requires at least one year of inpatient Med Surg experience, current Missouri RN licensure, and BLS certification. The nurse will provide comprehensive patient care in a 60-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6, utilizing EPIC EMR and various medical equipment. Physical stamina and adherence to professional standards are essential.
