Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Portland, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: 36 hours per week, rotating day/night shifts, every other weekend
Job Description
- Support a 31-bed Level III/IV NICU, a 20-bed Level II NICU, and a 10-bed Level II NICU satellite.
- The NICU is currently operating above capacity with a census of 61+ patients across three physical locations due to construction and expanded operations.
- Staffing needs are high due to increased patient volume, multiple leave of absences, and geographic spread of units.
- Travelers will help maintain nurse-to-patient ratios, offset leave impacts, and support safe, high-quality neonatal care during a period of sustained census surge and construction.
- Orientation period of 2-3 days before assuming assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
- Minimum of 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
