Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Portland, Maine
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
- Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
- Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
- Float Requirements: Must float as RRT with some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, emergency department, adult acute and critical care
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maine
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience working with neonate and pediatric patients
- Experience working with Level 1 trauma patients
- Experience in tertiary care and teaching hospital environments
Experience & Skills
- Must have experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital environment
- Experience with level 1 trauma patients required
- Preferred experience in NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic care
- Flexible, team player with strong communication skills
Unit Information
- Patient Ratios:
- Acute care: 1:25
- Critical care: 1:8
- Equipment used includes:
- Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
- Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
- Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
- Airvo and Vapotherm devices
- EMR system: EPIC
- Team size: 14-16 RRTs covering the entire facility
