Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, or 5-6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
Work Schedule: Full Time
Job Summary
The competent Nurse practices independently in the same or similar clinical setting, providing routine and complex care. The role involves managing long-range goals and coping with contingencies in clinical nursing. The nurse makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers to manage the clinical situation effectively.
Responsibilities
- Meet expectations of leadership competencies (Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders).
- Provide nursing care consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and resources.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
