Job Opportunity: Special Procedures Tech
Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (5x8 schedule)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Job Summary
Assist radiologists and performing physicians in interventional and special procedures within critical care – interventional radiology. Provide essential patient care during exams, including surgery procedures as required by the team. Ensure safety and risk management by properly operating patient care equipment and observing patients throughout procedures. Maintain sterile technique and assist with routine and emergency interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with interventional and special radiology procedures.
- Provide patient care before, during, and after procedures.
- Operate oxygen, suction, blood pressure, and other essential equipment safely.
- Transfer patients carefully, managing IVs and other medical appliances.
- Maintain sterile fields and assist in emergency procedures.
- Verify accuracy of physician orders and documentation.
- Collaborate with staff and physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform exams on outpatient, inpatient, ICU, ER, and trauma patients.
- Obtain clinical history and informed consent when necessary.
- Administer contrast materials correctly.
- Ensure timely transmission of images for interpretation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Arkansas
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- RT(R) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in inpatient settings
- Experience in outpatient settings
Work Environment
- Patient types include outpatient, inpatient, ICU, ER, and trauma cases.
- Use of EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Dress code: Black scrubs.
