Job Opportunity: RN - Rehab

Location: Salem, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

• Unit: Inpatient Rehab
• Number of Beds: 35
• Patient Ratios: 5-7 patients per nurse
• Staffing: 2-4 techs per census, unit secretaries available
• Equipment: Vitals machine, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, Bladder scanner
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
• Floating Policy: May be floated to other Med Surg departments

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehab
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty (Med/Surg or PCU experience required)
• Certifications: BLS required
• Licenses: Virginia RN License required
• Preferred Experience: Rehab experience preferred
• Advanced Skills: None required

Procedures Performed

• Medication administration including IVs, PICC lines, PEG tube administration
• Bladder scans
• Tracheostomy care
• Tube feeding
• Foley catheter care and bladder irrigation
• Blood administration

Work Environment

• Dress Code: Navy blue or white solid scrubs
• Collaborative multidisciplinary team including Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiatrist, Physician Assistant, and Neuropsychologist
• Focus on patient functional improvements and achieving goals for functional independence

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
