Travel Nursing Opportunity – Psychiatric / Addiction RN

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Days, 7 AM – 7 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Adult acute psychiatric patients
Current census up to 16 patients, with plans to increase to 24-30 patients
Unit currently uses Cerner, transitioning to EPIC within 1-2 months

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a psychiatric/addiction setting
Manage long-range goals and contingencies in clinical nursing
Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers as needed
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric/addiction nursing specialty
Licenses/Certifications:
- RN license in New Mexico or compact state
- BLS certification (AHA only)

Additional Information

ASAP start, no later than February 9th
Temp-to-perm preferred
Looking for experienced Psych/Addiction RNs with strong psychiatric skills to support unit growth

No prior travel experience explicitly required.
