Unit & Patient Information

• Unit Type: NICU
• Number of Beds: 25 plus overflow beds on pediatric floor
• Patient Ratios: Typically 3 feeders, 2 CPAP, 1 nitric, 1 cooling (varies by acuity)
• Typical Patient Care:

  • Caring for Level 3 NICU infants including:

    • High Frequency vents, conventional vents, CPAP, NIMV, HFNC, Nitric oxide therapy
    • Whole body cooling
    • OG/NG/PO feedings
    • UAC, UVC, PICC, PIV lines
    • Attending high risk deliveries and all cesarean section deliveries
• Float Requirements: Possible float to mother-baby or pediatrics, but unlikely due to high census

Summary

This travel RN position in the NICU requires a minimum of 2 years of experience caring for Level 3 or 4 NICU infants with advanced ventilator and neonatal care skills.
