Unit Information

• Department: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 33
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: Director, 2 Charge Nurses, 6 RNs, 4 PRN CCT
  • Night Shift: 4 RNs
• Patient Ratios: Optimal 4:1
• Equipment: 2 Tele Neuro machines, 3 EKG machines, Rapid Infuser
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
• NIH Certification
• Registered Nurse License

Preferred Certifications

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Typical Procedures

• Emergency Assessment, Care, and Treatment
• Vaginal Exams

Work Schedule & Environment

• Every other weekend required
• No on-call duties
• Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
• May be required to hold patients in the ED

• Years of Experience in Specialty: 1 year
