Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Albany, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (open to 8 or 17 weeks)
Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 6:45 AM
Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (not guaranteed during orientation)

Job Details

Work primarily on a Medical-Surgical Acute Care unit (2 unit)
Float to all acute care areas, cardiology, and Emergency Center for acute care patient holds; mid-shift floats are rare and only for emergent needs
Potential to float to a nearby campus (1.8 miles away)
Weekend rotation every other weekend
Must work 2 out of 3 holidays
On-call/call back is rare
30-minute break per shift
Patient ratios: 1:6 for both day and night shifts
Nurse aides available with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
One completed travel nursing assignment
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
AHA NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Peripheral Intravenous (PIV) insertions
Experience with tracheostomy care and management
Experience with MEDITECH electronic medical record system

Preferred Qualifications

AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification highly preferred

Additional Requirements

Cannot have return-to-office (RTO) within 2 weeks of start date and no more than 7 total days of RTO
Must comply with a 75-mile radius rule from the facility
Uniform: Caribbean blue or white scrub colors

This position offers guaranteed hours after orientation and requires flexibility to float within acute care settings.
