Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position

Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every weekend with rotating schedule (Fri/Sat/Sun then Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Hours: Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• On Call: Call on weekends; call-back pay applies with a minimum of 2 hours
• Float Requirements: Support all patient care areas including Emergency Department and general care areas
• Unit Specific Skills:

  • Provide emergency services for Rapid Response and Code Blue
  • Basic respiratory care, critical care, ventilator management
  • Patient assessment with Assess and Treat Protocols
  • Care for all age groups, including NICU (0-6 months)
  • ABG draws, EKGs, Holter/event monitoring
• Charting/Equipment: Epic charting system; experience with V60 BiPAP, Hamilton T-1, AVEA, VOCSN ventilators

Requirements

• Education: Associate’s Degree
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
  • Wisconsin state license
  • BLS and Advanced NRP required
  • ACLS preferred but not required
  • AHA or ARC certifications required
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience
  • NICU experience with proficiency caring for infants 0-6 months required
• Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not required
• Additional:

  • Must be comfortable working independently and managing change
  • Strong prioritization and social skills
  • If assigned to night shifts, must be comfortable being the only RT on duty

Work Environment & Policies

• Dress code: Closed-toed shoes, scrubs (any color), clean appearance, no smoking or scents allowed
• Radius rule: Must live within 50 miles of the facility
• Flu and COVID vaccination required during flu season or mask must be worn at all times per facility policy
• Eligible for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours; on-call hours count toward this

This position offers a dynamic role supporting a variety of patient care areas with a focus on critical and neonatal respiratory care in a hospital setting.
