Job Opportunity: Radiology Interventional Technologist
Location: Detroit, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist, this role specializes in performing invasive procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological conditions as prescribed by a physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for exams.
- Obtain additional patient medical history as needed.
- Prepare contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for administration.
- Review clinical data, analyze patient anatomy, set up equipment, and assist Radiologist with complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment.
- Ensure adequate supplies (needles, catheters, etc.) are available and properly stored; replenish as needed.
- Actively assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures.
- Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images.
- Assist with training new personnel or students as assigned.
- Perform imaging procedures following radiation protection principles (shielding, dose reduction, ALARA techniques).
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS; complete study indexing in RIS.
- Consistently demonstrate team standards including communication, positive attitude, innovation, and respect for diversity.
- Perform Quality Assurance procedures and document all clinical and billing information accurately.
- Use independent judgment for imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Certifications:
- Healthcare Provider certification (BLS) must be maintained.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced registry in one of the following:
- Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
- Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
Experience Requirements
- No specific years of experience required.

- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
