Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for the care of a group of patients, focusing on safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. The role emphasizes customer satisfaction, quality outcomes, and maintaining a financially stable unit. You will also promote your own professional development through evidence-based practice and education within a Practice Governance framework.
You will supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, apply the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, and be accountable for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans. The RN role includes mentoring and precepting staff, focusing on patient comfort, education, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assessments and reassessments according to policy or patient condition, making sound independent decisions.
- Initiate, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor/preceptor.
- Encourage teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards.
- Engage in the Practice Governance model.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience.
