Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer
Location: Superior, Colorado
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Summary
Perform Ultrasound procedures to obtain imaging results according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer for examinations, assisting with the ultrasound process, operating ultrasound imaging equipment, and ensuring quality and timeliness of exams. Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and team members while maintaining infection prevention standards and sterile technique.
Essential Duties
- Operate all ultrasound imaging and related equipment appropriately.
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients for ultrasound procedures.
- Coordinate ultrasound exams to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Follow provider imaging orders accurately.
- Submit images and clinical information to radiologists for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality.
- Maintain department supplies and properly document usage.
- Practice sterile technique and infection prevention policies.
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines safely.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- ARDMS certification.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate’s degree.
- Experience in vascular ultrasound and vascular sonography.
- Experience as an Ob/Gyn sonographer.
- Ability to evaluate image quality effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Skills in anatomy scans and OB/GYN scans (pelvic and transvaginal), performing approximately 12 scans per day.
