Job Description

• Independently provide nursing care to acutely ill neonatal patients under nurse leader supervision.
• Perform nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care.
• Create a compassionate environment supporting patient and family through authentic presence and trust-building.
• Collect and document patient data; interpret assessment data to identify physiological and psychosocial risks.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Prioritize nursing actions using education, experience, and assessment data.
• Establish nursing diagnoses and revise care plans as needed.
• Manage rapidly changing patient conditions and activate emergency protocols when necessary.
• Coordinate care activities with nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers.
• Adhere to evidence-based practices, therapeutic standards, and infection control policies.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional governance, and ongoing education.
• Maintain compliance with nursing scope of practice, ethical standards, and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills specific to neonatal intensive care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 3 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Competency in advanced nursing theory
• Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care team.
