Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography

Job Overview

• Location: Jackson, Michigan
• Schedule: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM EST
• Shift details: Every other weekend required; no call required; block scheduling available if it includes weekends
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 per week, 12-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate degree in Applied Science in Radiology
• Current BLS certification
• Registered with ARRT and advanced registry in Computed Tomography, or registry-eligible
• At least 1 year of hospital setting experience
• Peripheral IV insertion experience, or willingness to obtain training
• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans and may also perform general diagnostic radiology exams
• Prepare patients and explain procedures
• Review clinical data and confirm protocols with the radiologist as needed
• Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for reactions
• Set up sterile equipment and assist with complex sterile diagnostic procedures
• Follow radiation protection principles and ALARA techniques
• Manage imaging workflow in PACS and RIS
• Complete required documentation in the medical record and radiology information system

Work Environment

• May work in a hospital setting with a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit
• May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and potentially contagious patients
• May occasionally need to lift or move equipment or patients over 10 lbs
