X-Ray Technician (0-2 Years) - Contract
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 9 weeks
Job Summary
Operate radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish rapport with patients to understand and meet service requirements, reducing anxiety through explanations and answering questions.
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls for radiological procedures.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff, including use of shielding and beam restriction.
- Maintain quality and production standards by processing radiographs, observing results, and making necessary adjustments.
- Document patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
- Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and maintain equipment inventories.
- Monitor and maintain radiology supplies inventory.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional activities.
- Complete yearly Age Specific Competency requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in New York
- Radiology Technologist with 0 years of experience
- Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Experience with MDNC-3221
- X-Ray Technician experience
