Registered Nurse – Step Down Unit

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Description

• Work in a Step Down unit with patient ratios:

  • 3:1 ratio in Step Down
  • 5:1 ratio on day shift
  • 6:1 ratio on night shift
• Responsibilities include:

  • Medication administration
  • Patient assessments
  • Developing and managing care plans
  • Physical tasks such as ACLS pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Emphasis on communication and teamwork

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Minimum of 2 years of Step Down nursing experience
• Step Down experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification
• 8 hours of Stroke Training (including NIHSS component)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid driver’s license
