Job Description

• Provide safe patient care using nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice on Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
• Float to telemetry or other units of competency as needed.
• Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Minimum 1 year of previous acute care hospital experience.
• Meditech EMR experience preferred.

Required Credentials & Certifications (Must be current and valid)

• Prime CA Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
• Nursys license verification
• Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
• Prime OIG check
• Drug Screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC (urine and saliva tests required for CA locations) within 60 days of start
• Color-blind test (annual)
• Agency Attestation
• SAM/EPLS exclusion search
• Resume (up-to-date at offer acceptance)
• Two professional references (one from a manager or supervisor)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• COVID-19 Vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or declination completed
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer (declinations accepted for this facility only)
• Fit Test: Annual respirator fit test required prior to start
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity proof (declinations not accepted at some facilities)
• Influenza Vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
• TB Test within 1 year of start date
• Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer (declinations accepted for this facility only)
• Tdap vaccination or immunity proof (declination form accepted for booster)
• Annual TB Questionnaire
• Physical/Health Statement: Annual, must state clear to work
• Prime Core Competencies Exam: Must score 80% or higher
• Prime Skills Checklist
• National Criminal Background Check within 1 year of start date
• Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) or agency attestation
• Prime Specialty Exam: Must score 80% or higher
• Orientation Packet completion including Essentials Form and Post Test
• Job Description signed by employee
• Workplace Violence Prevention Training (DCI/BVP)

• Meditech EMR experience is preferred but not mandatory.
