Operating Room RN
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Omaha, Nebraska
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift primarily, with possible night shift rotation
- 4x10 schedule
- Float required
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
- 2 years of OR RN experience
- Oncology surgery experience
- General surgery experience
- At least level 2 trauma experience
- Experience with a majority of these cases: Whipple, esophagectomy, exploratory laparotomy, bowel resection, thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, laparoscopic adrenalectomy, neck dissection, breast reduction, stage one and two breast reconstruction, free flaps, mastectomy, lumpectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, melanoma excisions
Preferred Experience
- Level 1 trauma experience
- DaVinci experience
- Oncology experience
- Ortho experience
- Neuro experience
Schedule and Call
- Off-shifting may occur 1 to 3 shifts in a 4-week scheduling period
- Weeknight call averages 1 to 2 nights per week
- Weekend call occurs about every 4 to 5 weeks, typically 24 hours on Saturday or Sunday

- Scrubs are provided
- 100% nicotine-free facility
- Bi-weekly orientation
- Baseline eye exam is required for OR travelers
- Government-issued photo ID is required
- References: 2 work references from the past 2 years
- Annual skills checklist required
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test within 1 year of start
- Tdap/Tetanus within the last 10 years
- TB screening or chest x-ray documentation required
- MMR immunity or vaccination documentation required
- Hepatitis B titer required
- Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation required
- Drug screen within 60 days of start
- Flu vaccination documentation or declination required
- COVID vaccination preferred; exemption or declination accepted
