Step-Down RN

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Auburn, New York
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
  • 36 hours guaranteed
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday
  • No blocked scheduling
  • Local candidates accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience
  • Stepdown experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID
  • Background check within 1 year of start covering all locations lived/worked/in school for the past 7 years, with annual updates
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM clearance prior to facility start
  • HHS/OIG clearance prior to facility start
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement
  • Annual stroke education: 8 hours
  • Annual NIH Stroke Scale training: minimum 2 hours
  • Annual telemetry pass/fail assessment with minimum score of 80%
  • Annual physical exam completed within 12 months of start
  • Fit test within 12 months of start, then annually
  • Tdap within the last 10 years or declination
  • TB screening within 1 year of start, or chest x-ray within 5 years if previously positive
  • Measles and rubella immunity
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination, positive titer, or documented history of disease
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine records or declination
  • 2 professional references within 3 years of hire

  • Common diagnoses include CHF, post-heart-catheterization, post-vascular procedures, respiratory failure requiring BiPAP/CPAP/Vapotherm, and cardiac dysrhythmias
