Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Mission Viejo, California.
• Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00–19:00.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Start date: 11/9 only.
• RTO: up to 5 days; no holiday RTO accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (5 years of experience)
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
• Pediatrics experience
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• Float scope includes NICU, PICU, and PEDS.
• EPIC familiarity
• 2 supervisor references
• Unit-specific skills checklist
• Verification of 2 previous employers minimum
• Work history must list up to 7 years of relevant experience

Unit Details

• Home unit: NICU
• NICU: 22-bed Level III unit caring for preterm infants as early as 22+ weeks, respiratory distress, hyperbilirubinemia, IDM/poor feeders, failure to thrive, and hypoglycemia.
• PICU: 8-bed Level II unit with traumas, respiratory diagnoses, ingestions, and some surgical cases.
• Pediatrics: 24 beds with general med/surg, an embedded Eating Disorder Stabilization Program, and a long-term EEG program.

Schedule

• Weekend requirement: 6 shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Major holiday blocks are used.
