Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Primarily PET/CT Tech Role)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Unit Details

  • Must have PET/CT experience; role primarily as PET tech
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • No weekends required
  • No on-call required
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)

Assignment Expectations

  • If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
  • If two major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
  • If three major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
  • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
  • Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance results in 2-week delay due to orientation schedule
  • Locals accepted at same rate

Orientation

  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Orientation scheduled bi-weekly

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in specialty
  • PET/CT experience required

Certifications (as applicable)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for certain specialties; check if applicable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required unless specialty exempt
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for some RN specialties
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for some specialties
  • Tech Certification Verification – National allied license verification within 30 days prior to start
  • State License Verification – Must be licensed by the State of Georgia for CRTs & RRTs
  • CEUs – Required for Mammography Techs (proof of 15 CEUs in last 3 years)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on specialty and unit

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
    • County and national criminal searches
    • Sex offender registry
    • Education verification (degree verification or official transcripts/diploma)
  • Cannot start with background check pending
  • Education verification can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start
  • TB testing (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months of start; negative chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
  • Annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Competency Exams & Testing

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for RNs and LVNs (Aya only)
  • Color Blind Testing required for all candidates; alternative assessment available for blood collection tasks
  • Competency exam required for Nursing and Allied Health (Aya only)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (Tele, ICU, ER, etc.) with up to 3 attempts allowed

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
  • Mammography techs require original ARRT Mammography certification and documentation of 200 mammography exams in last 2 years
  • Additional facility-specific certifications may apply depending on role

References & Work History

  • Two clinical references required (Aya requirement)
  • Skills checklist within last 12 months, updated annually
  • Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)

Additional Notes

  • Floating may be required within the facility and scope of practice
  • Locals accepted at same pay rate
  • RTO (Return to Office) maximum 7 days
