Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Technician (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Douglas, Wyoming

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Ultrasound Technician
• Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
• Shift Times: Rotating between 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM and 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, with rotating on-call duties
• Experience:

  • Open to local candidates
  • 1st time travelers welcome
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • MUST have Maternal Fetal Medicine and OB experience
• Certifications: ARDMS certification preferred in OB
• Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of ultrasound exams, primarily OB (heavy focus)
  • General ultrasound and some vascular studies (e.g., DVT)
• Skills/Exams include but are not limited to:

  • Adult and ER ultrasound
  • Obstetrics (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester)
  • Fetal anatomical survey, amniotic fluid index, umbilical cord Doppler
  • Ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration
  • Abdomen, gallbladder, bladder, ovaries, uterus, thyroid, carotid, aorta
  • Doppler and duplex studies, lower extremity venous exams
  • Portable ultrasound exams

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• ARDMS certification preferred (especially OB)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required for ER RNs (if applicable)
• National Tech Certification verification as applicable
• State license verification (if applicable)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form prior to start
• Background Check:

  • Standard 7-year search including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry
  • Must be completed or updated within 90 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific policies for past positives)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
• Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination required during flu season (approx. Oct-Mar)
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required by this facility
• References:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care
• Employment application and annual skills checklist required

Additional Notes

• Return to Office (RTO) documentation must be submitted upfront
• Some exams require ultrasound-guided procedures such as biopsies and fine needle aspirations
• Candidates should be comfortable with a variety of ultrasound exams, including portable studies and vascular exams
