Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
- 1st time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Patient Population
- Adults to Geriatrics
Unit & Work Setting
- Specialty: Renal Med Surg
- Ratio/Census: 1:5-6; 49 rooms with average daily census of 48
- Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Floating: Yes
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (see details below)

Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty/unit
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) may be required depending on specialty/unit
- State License verification required within 30 days prior to start (Georgia RN license)
- Annual NURSYS verification required
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required by agency)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for certain units such as Tele, ICU, ER)
Compliance & Orientation
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours)
Health & Background Requirements
- Background Check required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, education verification
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- Required immunizations or titers:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable under certain conditions)
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Verification of most recent work history (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
- Two clinical references required by agency
Dress Code
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Must review and comply with dress and professional appearance policy
This position is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of experience in Renal Med Surg, comfortable working with adult to geriatric patients, and able to meet the certification and compliance requirements listed. Prior travel experience is not required.
