• Experience: Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required
• Floating Policy:

  • Agency staff must float to other units or campuses within the health system as needed.
  • Floating only to units where the staff is qualified and competent.
• Travel Distance Policy:

  • Full bill rate granted for assignments 100+ miles away.
  • Locals accepted with a bill rate reduction for 90-99.9 miles.
  • Under 90 miles is ineligible for travel pay.

Required Documentation & Compliance

Licenses & Certifications

• State License Verification: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start; license must not expire within 30 days of start.
• NURSYS Verification: Must show all licenses and authorize work in South Carolina.
• BLS: AHA or ARC certification required; must not expire within 30 days of start.
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required annually for relevant units; must not expire within 30 days of start.
• IV Certification: Required for all LPN/LVN candidates; does not expire.
• Additional Certifications (if applicable): ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, CPI, MAB, STABLE, ENPC, and others depending on unit assignment.
• Pass/Fail Testing: Medication and arrhythmia tests required for RNs and certain techs; must be completed prior to orientation.

Background Checks & Screening

• 7-year background check within 12 months of start required.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter.
• Fingerprinting required for certain roles and states.
• Education verification required for highest level of education.
• OFAC Sanctions List Search required for all new/pre candidates.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam: Physician’s statement within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands.
• TB Testing: True 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot within 90 days of start.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (for high-risk areas)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required.
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination.
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines.
  • Flu Vaccine: Required or approved exemption; deadlines apply.
• Drug Testing: 5-panel drug screen within 1 year of start, updated annually.

Competency & Training

• Annual medication test/pharmacology competency exam.
• Core training parts I, II, and III annually (including OSHA, patient safety, ethics, etc.).
• Color blindness testing for specific units.
• Online Cornerstone modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment.
• Facility-specific orientation and testing requirements apply.

Facility Specific Requirements

• Badge photo required prior to start.
• Floating policy acknowledgment must be signed.
• Compliance checklist to be completed by the agency.
• Performance evaluations and internal evaluations required if applicable.
