Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Work radius: 60 miles
- Required experience:
- Minimum 2 years Medical-Surgical (MS) experience
- At least 1 year experience with medical patient population including renal and diabetic patients
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Orientation: Biweekly, on Mondays
- Licensure: Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
- Required certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Preferred certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Dress code: Any color scrubs allowed, professional appearance, child-friendly print tops allowed, scrub/lab coat allowed
- Facility is a nicotine-free campus
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background checks within 1 year, including SS Trace, County searches (last 7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3 (updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start
- Certifications verification (BLS required, ACLS preferred, PALS as applicable)
- State license verification and NURSYS verification prior to start
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Signed Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (updated annually)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year prior to start
- TB questionnaire annually if applicable
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Mumps: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Hepatitis B: Series, positive titer, or declination accepted
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
References & Skills
- Minimum 2 professional references from travel, allied, or per diem acute care within past 3 years
