Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Rockville Centre, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Valid New York State RN license
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Interview availability within the next 3 business days is mandatory
• Call required during shift

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, required for all RN positions
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required for ER RN positions
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for ER
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - required for Labor & Delivery, NICU, Mother/Baby
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - may be required depending on unit
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - required for Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement - required
• NIH Stroke Certification - may be required
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - minimum score 80%
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - minimum score 80%, required for EEG Tech and possibly other units

Background & Health Requirements

• 7-year background check completed within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification via diploma or transcript
• State-specific Medicaid Exclusion List check (NY OMIG) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Physical exam using facility-specific form, completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (antibody and antigen results required)
  • Varicella
• Standard 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (October 1 - April 30), declinations allowed for religious or medical reasons
• COVID vaccine series preferred

Documentation & History

• Driver’s license or state ID with clear picture and address required
• 2 clinical references required (supervisor level or above, Charge RNs acceptable)
• Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for any gaps
• Skills checklist current within the last year and applicable to the position
• Must have at least 1 year experience in the specialty or comparable/higher acuity

• Locals within 75 miles considered
• Interview availability in EST for the next three days is required with submission
• Background hits handled case-by-case with client approvals
