Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Cath Lab RN
• Schedule: 4x10 hour day shifts with rotating day off
• On-Call: Required on weekdays and weekends, approximately 8-10 days per month including 1-2 weekends
• Responsibilities:

  • Circulate and scrub (scrubbing preferred) during procedures
  • Administration and monitoring of procedural sedation
  • Diagnostic right and left heart catheterizations
  • Interventional catheterizations
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring

Experience & Licensure Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Cath Lab experience required
• Cardiac Cath Level I Trauma experience required
• Must have active Florida or Compact RN license
• Must have ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Degree from an accredited school or approved institution by FBON
• 2 years recent acute care experience (consecutive within past 24 months in a US hospital)
• Epic experience required

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, Apex, Blue Cloud, or equivalent)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
• Annual skills checklist required
• Additional facility-specific modules and trainings required (see below)

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required

Facility & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 6 months including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification and accreditation confirmation required
• Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required for clinical professions
• Physical exam within 6 months of start, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
• Annual fit mask test with approved masks (3M 1860 Regular or Small)
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TB test (QuantiFERON lab only) within 6 months or chest X-ray if positive history
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or titers
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccinations or titer
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccination preferred (tracking only)
• 2 professional references from within last 2 years required
