Job Opportunity: Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

Job Description

• Certified sterile processing technician required
• Must have 3+ years of experience in sterile processing
• Must work one weekend per month
• 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Certification: HSPA or CBSPD
• Valid state ID or driver’s license
• Background checks including 7-year criminal background check, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
• Required certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only (required and collected by agency)
  • Tech Cert Verification – must be current within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions
• Drug testing within 30 days of start
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • TB testing and questionnaire
  • Vaccinations or declinations for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu, and COVID-19 (facility-specific declinations accepted except for certain populations)
• Employment application documenting 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references within three years of start
• Skills checklist prior to start and updated annually

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Must comply with Massachusetts statewide iCORI clearance and other state-specific requirements
• Weekend work required (one weekend per month)
