Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

Location: Torrance, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Specialty: Home Health Nursing
  • Minimum Experience Required: 1 year recent experience in specialty
  • Prior travel experience: Not accepted for first-timers (i.e., prior travel experience required)
  • Average Patients per Day: 5-7
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Types of Cases: Geriatric
  • Weekly Minimum Productivity: 30 points
  • Territory: Up to 60-mile radius from the office hub; flexibility with territory expected
  • Dress Code: Scrubs (any color), no jeans
  • Charting: Must be completed by 9 AM the following morning
  • Communication: Timely communication required
  • Equipment Provided: iPad provided; cell phone not allowed
  • Mileage Reimbursement: Yes, at IRS standard rate

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Home Health nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • State License Verification
  • NURSYS Verification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

On-Call Requirement

  • On-call duties required; details to be discussed during interview

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Background checks including SSN trace, county searches (last 7 years), FACIS L1M, nationwide sex offender, motor vehicle records, education and work history verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days of start
  • Fingerprinting as required by state regulations (specific state requirements apply)
  • Education verification of highest degree related to profession
  • State-specific criminal history and employability status checks as applicable
  • Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
  • Fit mask test (N95 accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or TB questionnaire if applicable)
  • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required
  • COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination required

Documentation and History Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 2 years of start (travel, allied, per diem acute care)
  • Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps
  • Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
  • Proof of current auto insurance required if driving is part of job responsibilities
