Job Details

• Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (07:00 - 19:30)
• Patient Ratio:

  • Days: 1:3-4
  • Nights: 1:4-5
• Unit: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Patient Population:

  • Medicine, cardiology, telemetry, surgical/vascular patients
  • Also includes ortho, neuro/neurological, gynecology, urology, trauma, and vulnerable populations
• Facility Type: Magnet, Teaching, Level I Trauma Center
• Charting System: Epic (hard stop)
• Scrub Color: Any solid color scrubs; light blue scrubs provided on unit

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Experience in a Clinic setting
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Phlebotomy certification
• Skill in IV starts
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam:

  • Must pass with 80% or higher before start
  • Only 2 attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required with minimum 80% in dosage calculations
• Orientation Testing: Pass/fail with 80% passing score required
• Additional Competencies: May include conscious sedation competency if applicable

Background & Health Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check including nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 1, WATCH (WA Access to Criminal History)
  • Education verification as applicable
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year (not required by facility but required by agency)
  • Mask fit test within 12 months (specific mask models required)
  • Immunizations and titers: Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB testing (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 90 days)
  • Flu vaccine or declination required annually during flu season
  • COVID vaccination or declination required for tracking
  • Drug screening within past 12 months (agency requirement)
• References: 2 references required

• Parking: Onsite parking available with fees; offsite parking with shuttle service on weekdays
• Orientation: Modules must be completed prior to start; includes online and onsite testing
• Scheduling: No block scheduling accommodation; weekend flexibility required
• Facility Specific Documents: Badge photo, license acknowledgment, health history, policies and procedures acknowledgment, security info, personal data form, job description acknowledgment, and others must be completed and signed

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with strong telemetry skills who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment at a Level I trauma center. Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
