Job Description
- Physical Therapist for Acute Care, day shift
- Requires 1 year of experience in the specialty
- Suitable for first-time travel therapists
- New Mexico license required (pending license acceptable with approximately 3 weeks ETA)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- I-9 verification
- Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify compliance
- 7-year background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, and education verification
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (specific to New Mexico placements)
- Education verification (transcript or diploma may be accepted temporarily)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B status (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (during flu season)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Employment application and resume required
- Photo for badge identification
- Signed fingerprint consent form prior to start (New Mexico only)
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- Orientation and EPIC training can be attended pending fingerprint clearance, but work on unit cannot begin until clearance is received.
- Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines require proper documentation and approval.
This position is ideal for a Physical Therapist with acute care experience looking to take on a travel contract in New Mexico with a supportive onboarding process and clear compliance requirements.
