- Locals: Not accepted (candidates residing in Guam are considered local and will not be considered)
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- IV therapy experience
- Neurological experience
- Respiratory/Thoracic experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Required Certifications & Licensure
- ACLS (American Heart Association provider card required)
- BLS (American Heart Association provider card required)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- Conscious Sedation certification
Special Requirements
- Passport in hand required (Canadian passports not accepted)
- Must be able to work scheduled holidays (dates determined by unit)
- Return to Office (RTO) requests must be approved and included in contract before start date; max 3 consecutive days and 7 total days allowed
- Candidates should plan to arrive at least one day before start date due to long travel times and time zone differences
Orientation & Testing
- Onsite drug calculations and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) testing required during orientation
- Tests are pen and paper, must be completed in person on the first day
- Passing score: 80% or higher; two attempts allowed with remediation discussion after first attempt
Facility Specific Training Modules (must be completed by compliance deadline)
- Pressure Injury Training (NPIAP)
- NIH Stroke Scale Training (NIHSS)
- Alaris IV Pumps
- Pyxis CareFusion
- FEMA modules (completed onsite)
- Conscious Sedation (required for ICU, ER, Cath Lab)
- ESI Triage (for ER staff)
- Other unit-specific trainings as applicable
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year (facility does not require but agency does)
- Fit mask test within 1 year (specific approved masks required; onsite fit testing available)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual TB questionnaire if past positive)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination with restrictions)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions considered with facility form)
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred; declination requires facility-specific waiver form
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
Background & Documentation
- 7-year background check required within 1 year prior to start (criminal, sex offender, and international if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks must be done annually
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Emergency contact form required prior to start
- Work history verification for last 10 years required (attestations accepted if verification unavailable)
- Two professional references required for travel/per diem acute care roles
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with at least 2 years of critical care experience who are willing to work a travel contract in Guam with required certifications, health clearances, and facility-specific training.
