Travel Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Adult to Geriatric patient population
- 42-bed unit primarily caring for post-surgical patients including Orthopedics, Urology, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Neurology, and General Surgery
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Unit uses Epic electronic health record system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Weekend shifts every other weekend
- Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Orientation (RTO) required within 7 days, with blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4-12)
- Locals accepted at same rate
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in Medical Surgical nursing
- Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Additional Information
- Floating within the facility as needed
- Must comply fully with orientation and credentialing timelines to avoid assignment delays
- Candidate profile review by manager within 48 hours after confirmation
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length

- Mostly post-surgical patients including Orthopedics, Urology, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Neurology, and General Surgery

Work Schedule
- Every other weekend off (unless otherwise specified)
- Floating as needed within scope of practice
- Expected to work major holidays during assignment
Prior Travel Experience

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with at least 2 years in medical-surgical or related post-surgical care, comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical unit with a diverse adult to geriatric patient population.
