Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for an Operating Room position. This is a travel/contract role requiring at least 2 years of RN experience. CNOR certification is preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including Social Security trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
• FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and must be updated annually.
• Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
• Sex offender search required within 90 days of start.
• Various state and federal compliance screenings as applicable.

Certifications and Competencies

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification may be required (AHA/AAP, instructor or advanced provider course).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) may be required (valid for 4 years).
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification may be required for Labor & Delivery roles.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required.
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear candidate for work).
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types required).
• Immunizations and/or titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law).

Documentation and Other Requirements

• Complete and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and others prior to start.
• TB screening questionnaire required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter.
• Employment application with full 7 years of work history, including locations and no gaps.
• Verification of up to 7 years of employment history required.
• Two professional references required (clinical roles).

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role.
• Candidates with religious exemptions for vaccines or facial hair must complete specific exemption forms and receive approval.
