Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hannibal, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Emergency Room Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel assignment.
Shift: Flexible mids/nights with 3x12-hour shifts per week.
- Mid shift options: 11 AM - 11 PM or 12 PM - 12 AM
- Night shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Night rotation possible if open

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Certifications required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background check within 30 days of start, including:
- 7-year work/lived/school history
- Social Security trace
- County and nationwide searches
- National sex offender search
- Education verification
Additional background screenings within 90 days: EPLS/GSA/SAM, OIG
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
Immunizations and titers:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B - titer, series, or declination form
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination/exemption form
Drug screening: 7-panel drug test within 45 days of start
Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31) with proof by October 31
Annual TB questionnaire required

Additional Requirements

References from at least 2 recent prior employers
Employment application and skills checklist required
Facility-specific orientation modules and confidentiality statement to be completed
COVID-19 vaccination exemptions (medical or religious) considered with required documentation and weekly testing if exempted

Notes

Pharmacology and unit competency exams required within 12 months
Annual core testing required
NIH Stroke Certification required for ED (must be updated annually)

Nurse:patient ratios are great. This SDU has the best UTL and Director I’ve worked with in quite awhile.
