Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 36 hours per week, rotating between day (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) shifts
  • Float Requirement: Must be willing to float between units as needed
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Background and Compliance Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check (including all aliases) within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Education verification or official transcript
  • Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance within 30 days of start
  • Primary source verification of state nursing license

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (acceptable masks: 1870+, 1860, 1860S); onsite fit testing available if needed
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray with TB questionnaire (annual questionnaire accepted in lieu of test)
  • Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or completed series; if low/equivocal titer, vaccination series and/or declination required)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 booster documentation or signed declination

Documentation and Facility Requirements

  • Passport-style photo (neck up, light background) for badge
  • Completion and signing of facility-specific agreements and policies including:
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Corporate Compliance Program Acknowledgement
    • CARE Values Behavior
    • Emergency Contact Form
    • Policy Acknowledgement and Standards of Behavior
    • Vehicle Registration Form
  • Upload required compliance documents and complete TB survey in facility’s document management system prior to start

Unit Systems Used

  • Omnicell (medication management)
  • Meditech Expanse (documentation)
  • SBAR (communication tool)

Additional Notes

  • No fee for local candidates
  • References not required by facility but collected per standard practice
  • Annual skills checklist required
