Registered Nurse – Post-transplant Kidney
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, Day shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week (5x8 hour shifts)
Start Date: July 20 or August 3
Job Description
- Care coordination for patients referred for kidney transplant evaluation.
- Primarily office-based role with a high volume of phone triage.
- Patients are seen in the outpatient clinic three mornings per week.
- Supported by a team of three other RNs.
- No weekend, call, or holiday shifts required.
- No floating to other hospitals.
- Locals accepted; pending licenses not accepted.
- Maximum 1 week restriction on return-to-office (RTO).
- No block scheduling accommodations unless otherwise stated.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Minimum 1 year of transplant nursing experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications & Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only.
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (refer to unit-specific job descriptions).
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam with minimum 80% in dosage calculations.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for certain units (confirm with unit).
- EPIC / Alaris Integration video and attestation required prior to start.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check including nationwide, sex offender, and state-specific searches.
- Education verification or diploma/transcript required.
- Social Security Card required if used on I-9.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- WA WATCH search required for Washington State.
- Physical exam signed by a physician within 1 year of start.
- 10-panel drug screen within one year of start (required by agency, not facility).
- Fit mask test within 9-12 months of start (3M N95 preferred; PAPR available onsite if needed).
- Required facility-specific agreements and checklists must be completed prior to start.
- Photo for badge required (DMV style, no selfies).
Immunization & Health Requirements
- Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years or signed declination.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes; positive TB requires additional documentation.
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; declinations accepted with documentation.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of full vaccine series and positive titer or signed declination required.
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; history of disease not accepted.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical exemption/declination required during flu season.
- COVID vaccination or declination required for tracking purposes.
Work Environment & Facility Highlights

- Charting system: EPIC.
- Scrub color: Any (scrubs provided for OR personnel).
- Parking cost approximately $10.26 daily.
- No weekend or holiday coverage required due to ambulatory/surgical service schedules.
Additional Notes
- In low census situations, providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift within a two-week cycle.
- Performance evaluations may be requested at the end of each assignment.
- Radiation badges are not provided by the agency for new candidates; must be supplied by the facility if needed.
